Bill West-Davis
South Carolina native Bill West-Davis is a lighting designer, though lately he's found himself dabbling in scenic and projection design. He has designed for Trustus Theatre (Columbia, SC), The Crowley Theatre (Marfa, TX), Texas Tech University (Lubbock, TX), Limestone University (Gaffney, SC), and Actors Theatre of Charlotte (Charlotte, NC), and for Off-Broadway at The Players Theater (NYC).Recently, Bill is employed as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC having worked on "Fun Home", "Noises Off", along with designing projections for LR Theatre's adaptation of the children's book "We Are Water Protectors".
While in grad school, Bill's work at Texas Tech was published in the Southeastern Theatre Conference's Summer 2020 publication of "Southern Theatre." He received a Meritorious Achievement Award for Excellence in Lighting Design at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (Region IV) in 2020. In 2019, Bill was awarded the National Partners in American Theatre Award and was the Barbizon Runner up for Excellence in Lighting Design at KCACTF (Region VI). He was recently a runner-up for Best Lighting Design for Broadway World Charlotte's 2022 award season.
Bill holds a BA in Theatre from Coker College and an MFA in Theatre Arts from Texas Tech University. When not in a tech rehearsal, Bill enjoys board games, motorcycling, performance and stage photography, cosplay, 3D printing, and spending time with his wife Ashley, his son Oliver, and his corgis, Tucker and Loki.
